About Us
At ECG guitars we strive to provide our clients with beautiful, handcrafted, one of a kind instruments that cannot be found in your local music store.
Whether you are looking for a custom electric guitar with highly figured exotic woods being used or a beautiful multi-colored metallic finish to your instrument, our job is to create an instrument any guitarist would cherish for a lifetime.
We encourage our clients to be "hands on" in the building process by selecting their own woods, fingerboards, fret size, neck size, fingerboard radius, bridge style, electronics configuration and many more options all through my guidance and education regarding the creativity process.

Custom Sizing

Not all hands are created equal. Here at ECG Guitars we do not believe in the "one size fits all" way of thinking, and neither should you. We will quide you through the process of selecting custom neck sizing made for you.

I wanted to give myself some time to really play around with it and feel it out before I gave you any feedback and boy have I :). First off, have to say the design and feel of the guitar is top notch! I was really wowed when I saw it and I'm stoked just how you captured some abstract idea that I had and turned it into a real concept. It's light weight, has smooth action with an overall simple feel & design that I think represents the style and tone of music I appreciate the most. I love it - thank you so much for putting this together. First time I've ever owned a piece of guitar equipment that I can truly say is high quality and I'm proud to show off. I'm truly indebted. Words can't quite capture the joy I feel playing it.

Where It All Started

Sometime in 2008, my friends Jarret Haley, Jordan Haley and Jeff Emmerling introduced me to their long time friend, teacher, mentor and founder of one of the most special programs I have ever come across, Wood Shop Rocks at Buljan Middle School in Roseville, CA. I will never forget that first time I walked into the classroom that morning. It was early on a Sunday morning during a holiday break and there were close to 15 middle school students in the classroom band sawing, routing and fretting electric guitars. I was absolutely blown away by Duanes' dedication, love and willingness to help these students who could have easily been doing something other than in an educational environment. Even with a short stint in the cabinetry business I was extremely skeptical about building my own guitar. Unbeknownst to me, I would become extremely hooked on wanting to learn more, build more and soon enough to create my own Custom Guitar Company. Thanks to the help of my dear friend Duane Calkins, I can easily say he has given me such a beatiful gift that I never knew was possible.

Please check out the Wood Shop Rocks program, which by word of mouth, has spread to 18+ other schools throughout the country and given the gift of music to thousands of people.

Thank you Duane!
