The Gilmour Mod Explained & How to Operate

David Gilmour from Pink Floyd wanted a sound would soften

the treble of the bridge pickup by adding the sound of

the neck pickup, BUT without using the middle pickup in the mix.

THAT option is NOT possible through the standard 5 way switch

so David had a switch/wiring added that uses the Bridge combined

with the Neck pickup, thus producing the mellow leads he gets.

With a flick of the switch the guitar goes back to stock functionality.

Simply put the 5 way down to select the Bridge (treble PUP)

and then flip the mini-toggle to get the Gilmour sound (Bridge & Neck only)
